In Akorda, under the chairmanship of the State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Krymbek Kusherbayev, a meeting of state commissions on the preparation and holding of the 175th anniversary of Abai and the 1150th anniversary of Abu Nasr Al-Farabi was held.
The participants of the meeting expressed their condolences to the families of those killed in the Kordai region, expressed their wishes for a speedy stabilization of the situation.
Opening the meeting, the Secretary of State highlighted that in Nur-Sultan and Almaty, official ceremonies were held to start the celebration of the 175th anniversary of Abai and the 1150th anniversary of Al-Farabi in Kazakhstan.
He also emphasized that today, rethinking the great heritage of Abai and Al-Farabi, we are once again convinced that the unity of the people is at the core of their humanistic ideas. If Abai inherited the concept of a «comprehensively developed personality», then the main commandment of Al-Farabi is his idea of a «virtuous city» in which everyone helps each other and strives to achieve true happiness for everyone. The moral ideals of justice and virtue of Abai and Al-Farabi are consonant with the modern concept of the Head of State as a «hearing state».
At the meeting of the Commission, special attention was paid to the message of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the people of Kazakhstan, his article «Abai and Kazakhstan in the XXI century», which clearly outlined new tasks, including the value guidelines of anniversary events. In the light of these instructions, members of state commissions and state bodies should take into account the opinions and suggestions of representatives of the public and compatriots widely disseminated in the media on propaganda of the spiritual heritage of Abay and Al-Farabi.
During the meeting, Minister of Culture and Sports A. Raimkulov, Minister of Education and Science A. Aymagambetov, Minister of Information and Social Development D. Abaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs M. Tleuberdi, Rectors of L. Gumilyov ENU E. Sydykov and Al-Farabi KazNU G. Mutanov made reports.
Following the meeting, the central and local executive bodies were instructed to take specific measures to prevent waste during the anniversary events, to ensure their high ideological and practical value.
