Students of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management of Al-Farabi KazNU have received a sponsorship in the amount of 1 million tenge from the Doctor of Geographical Sciences, academician of NAS RK, twice laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of science and technology, Ahmetkal Medeu.

The laureates of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of science and technology in 2019 handed over an amount of 1 million tenge to the best students of the country's leading University. Seven scholarships and certificates were awarded to seven students studying in the specialties «Geography», «Land Management», and «Cadastre»: Zhanel Aliyeva, Saltanat Tazabek, Gulfat Zhaksybay, Andrey Yakovenko, Shyngys Isman, Dana Atymtaeva, and Assem Isah.

The sponsorship is designed to increase student achievement, interest in research and the development of the intellectual potential of society.

It should be mentioned, several years ago, students of the Department of Geography, Land Management and Cadastre received a special scholarship on behalf of the Institute, headed by Akhmetkal Medeu.

Rector of the University, Academician Galym Mutanov, handed over to the Director of the Institute of Geography and Water Security of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of science and technology Ahmetkal Medeu, the anniversary medal «Eren Enbegi Ushin», congratulating the laureate and highlighting the importance of the task of popularizing knowledge among young generation.

The staff of the Department of Geography, Land Management and Cadastre expresses great gratitude to the «Institute of Geography and Water Security» for providing sponsorship.
