On May 19, 2017, at 13.30, the International Forum on the Unification of the Korean Peninsula will be held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Initiators and organizers of the forum are Ministry of Unification of the Republic of Korea, Central Asian Consultative Council for Peaceful and Democratic Unification of Korea, Association of Koreans of Kazakhstan, Al-Farabi KazNU and Korean National Center of Almaty. The purpose of this event is to spread the idea of ​​the need to unite the Korean peninsula through coverage of the 80-year history since the beginning of the resettlement of Koreans to the former Soviet countries. In addition, on May 20, 2017, the sixth Festival of peaceful unification of Korea will be held in Al-Farabi KazNU. Representatives of governmental and public organizations of Kazakhstan and South Korea, representatives of the Korean diaspora, South Korean citizens in Kazakhstan, students and Almaty citizens will take part in the events.
