Kazakhstan skater Roman Krech, a student of KazNU, Faculty of International Relations, twice became the second at the 500-meter mark at the World Championship in sprint all-around. On the first day, Krech in the first race for 500 meters showed a time of 34.21 seconds, thereby setting a new record for Kazakhstan. The previous achievement was also established by RomanKrechin November 2015. Then he ran the distance in 34.66 seconds. The winner of the world championship in a sprint all-around is determined by the sum of four starts - at the distance of 500 (two races) and 1000 (two races) meters.
