On 20.11.2023, Professor of the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi A. G. Koshim held a meeting of students with specialists of the "Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction", GU "Kazselezashchita", LLP "Institute of Seismology".

During the meeting, the specialists who arrived, having familiarized them with the work, encouraged students to undergo an internship in their institutions and work in the future. Currently, there is a shortage of specialists in prevention, forecasting of natural hazards and dealing with the causal effects of exposure to nature after the danger. In this regard, students of the specialty "natural and man-made risks", who are preparing at the department, were invited to study well, hone their knowledge in these centers and continue to work together, participate in various projects. He noted that all information about the work done and implemented projects in their areas will be made publicly available on the social site, as well as the data presented here can be used for their classes, term papers and theses.
 

Speaking during the meeting, the dean of our faculty, A. S. Aktymbaeva, sincerely thanked the specialists who arrived, called for cooperation in the future, as well as support students and share work experience, take an active part in various events with employers within the University.

Leading experts took part from the side of the organizations:
Salmenov Erken Zeynullayevich - Leading Researcher at the Laboratory of Technogenic Seismicity of the Institute of Seismology LLP of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
Abishev Bauyrzhan Zhumagazyevich - Head of the Department of Emergency Prevention and Operation of protective Structures of the State Institution "Kazselezashchita" of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
Chekirbayev Meymanbek Arykchievich - Deputy Director of the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction;
Bakhtiyar Maratovich Ospanov - Chief Expert of the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction;
Yesniyazova Zulfiya Serikovna is the chief expert of the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction.
The students also felt how important their chosen profession was and received comprehensive answers to their questions.

Professor of the department Asima Galymzhankyzy made a welcoming speech, noting that it is very important for students of the specialty "natural and man-made risks" recently opened in our department to meet with you about the need for this specialty.
From our side, the guests were presented with gifts and photos were taken as a keepsake. At the same time, all specialists working on the study of natural and emergency situations were assisted in their work, always with the wishes to perform their work with dignity.
