THE PHENOMENON OF SELF-PURIFICATION AND POLLUTION OF CLEAN WATERS

On November 17, a seminar session "the phenomenon of self-purification and pollution of clean waters" was held with 3rd-year students of the specialty "natural and man-made threats" within the framework of 6 directions of sustainable development "Clean water and sanitation" in the discipline "Geography of natural resources".

At the seminar, the actual and currently relevant problem of water pollution and the process of its self-purification was discussed, students made reports on prepared presentations, presented their positions and thoughts.

Currently, water sources are heavily polluted due to anthropogenic impacts, such as industrial waste, rising temperatures, the use of toxic pesticides in agriculture, deforestation, oil spills. The case aimed at reducing water pollution was widely discussed, first of all, about technological processes and methods of water use, purification, as well as about one special property of water - self-purification processes. The self-purification of fresh water occurs due to the action of organisms such as bacteria, algae and higher plants, as well as invertebrates that live there. Therefore, the task of nature conservation is to maintain and maintain these vital relationships in the water.

The study, accounting of water reserves, planning, forecasting of their integrated use, protection from pollution of groundwater and groundwater, water supply to consumers is the main problem of our time.
