LEARN JOURNALISM WITH THE BEST The journalism program at Kazakh National University (al Farabi) in Kazakhstan. Students from more than 15 countries learn communication theory and practical skills from talented scholars and top practicing journalists from Kazakhstan and other countries. They hone their skills on state-of-the-art radio, television and other equipment and in research facilities. The Journalism Department’s objective is to produce media professionals for the 21st Century.
Mission Our mission is to produce high-caliber journalists who can work for local, national and international media organizations. The Journalism Department has had a long-standing tradition of providing students with the knowledge and practical skills for them to succeed in all field of journalism.
Programs The Journalism Department offers three degrees – bachelor, master and doctoral degrees. Courses were designed by experts in mass communication, including professors and professionals. Students obtain much of the learning in our world-class digital broadcast facilities. They can produce programs in four radio recording studios and a full television newscasting studio, complete with control room and editing equipment.
Our Students Our talented students come from across Kazakhstan and other countries. Many become top journalists, authors and other professionals. In fact, our graduates obtain the lion’s share of broadcasting jobs in Kazakhstan. So if you’re in our journalism program, you’ll find yourself in the company of future leaders in the field.
Faculty Our teaching faculty includes established scholars who received degrees and additional training in more than 20 countries as well as award-winning journalists, authors, book editors, documentary film makers and other professionals.
Our Alumni Alumni of the faculty work almost in all periodicals, on TV, radio stations, publishing houses, correspondent stations, lead editorial offices of many republican and regional newspapers and journals.
