Aim of EP

The purpose of the educational program in the specialty "8D071 - Material Science and Technology of New Materials" is to provide high-quality training of highly qualified specialists in the field of materials science and technology of new materials, capable of:

- to interpret the basic principles of modern materials science;

- systematize and interpret scientific theories and concepts of the newest directions of modern materials science with the aim of further applying this knowledge in the implementation of the dissertation research;

- independently carry out scientific research in the field of materials science and technology of new materials demanded in research institutes, research centers, design and design offices, in the field of solar energy development, educational institutions;

- to evaluate and determine the significance of the results of research activities, to represent and defend one’s own scientific opinion in scientific discussions.

Upon completion of this educational program, students are expected to be able to:

ON1. Explain the principles of the organization of theoretical and experimental research, basic phenomena and processes through systemic understanding in the field of materials science and engineering.

ON2. Choose methods of theoretical and experimental studies of high efficiency in the framework of the scientific direction for obtaining products with desired properties.

ON3. To put into practice modern devices and research methods in the field of materials science to study the structure and properties of new materials, to combine research methods to obtain reliable results and achievements of the tasks set.

ON4. To develop and adapt a complex process of scientific research, analysis, diagnosis and implementation of finished engineering products.

ON5. Evaluate technological tasks and schemes of the processes of obtaining modern materials; optimize the existing technological methods of production based on the assessment.

ON6. To critically analyze and predict a complex of physicochemical properties that ensure the environmental safety of the use of end products in the field of materials science, engineering and engineering.

ON7. Implement and improve in practice the technological processes of production and processing of materials and finished products from them, the quality requirements of a market economy, including project management.

ON8. To propose new ideas of varying complexity, the implementation of which will ensure a technically safe production of materials and coatings.

ON9. Develop original innovative technologies that meet the requirements of peer review in the studied area, expanding the scope of existing knowledge.

ON10. Develop technical documentation, use basic regulatory documents on intellectual property issues, preparation of documents for patenting, design know-how.

ON11. To develop teaching materials for conducting classes and extracurricular work in organizations of higher education using educational technologies and teaching methods.

ON12. To promote technological, social and cultural development in the interests of the formation of society through participation in the production of intellectual materials.
