In the 2021 academic year, the Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University opened new innovative two-degree educational programs of the doctoral program "Intelligent Control Systems" in cooperation with the ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL – University Institute of Lisbon) and the Master's degree program Intelligent Control Systems in cooperation with Riga Technical University, Latvia. The purpose of these programs is to train scientific and pedagogical personnel in the field of automation and management of complex industrial and scientific processes. The development of two-degree educational programs was the result of fruitful cooperation of the department with the Institute of Telecommunications of the ISCTE-IUL University.

There are two-degree educational programs with 6 universities:

1. National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI";
2. Malardalen University, Westeros, Sweden;
3. University of Western Attica, Greece;
4. ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon, Portugal;
5. Riga Technical University, Latvia;
