New educational program "Solar Electronics"

At a meeting with a representative of the Physics and Technology  Institute of Almaty, the following issues were discussed:

1. Acquaintance with the Laboratory of Photoelectronic Devices and Phenomena (LPNP) of the Physics and Technology  Institute.

2. Discussion of the organization of the SSPh&NPh department on the territory of the Physics and Technology  Institute.

3. Discussion of the holding of master's theses by the students of the University at the Physics and Technology  Institute on specialty "Solar energy engineering".

4. Discussion of the possibility of joint scientific projects on photovoltaic converters.

On the first question:  Responsible executor of projects and the Scientific Council of the Physics and Technology Institute, PhD Chuchvagu N.A. about the technology of manufacturing heterojunction photovoltaic converters of solar energy on the R&D line installed at the Physics and Technology Institute. It was reported on the various stages of fabrication of PVCs using heterojunction technology (cleaning and texturization of silicon wafers by wet chemistry methods, deposition of amorphous films and formation of p-n - heterojunction by plasma-chemical deposition, methods of applying antireflection coatings and contacts). An excursion around the laboratory was conducted and it was told about the available equipment and methods of quality control of the manufactured solar cells. The works of students were demonstrated. Expediency of the SSPh&NPh department students carrying out theses in photovoltaics at the laboratory of the Physics and Technology Institute was expressed. The readiness to provide students with the necessary scientific and technical equipment and scientific guidance of the work on the part of the Institute staff was expressed.  Zhantuarov S.R. about the technology of manufacturing photovoltaic solar energy converters based on perovskite materials. A chemical laboratory was demonstrated, as well as methods for the production of perovskite solar cells. The works of students were demonstrated.

On the second question:  Head of SSPh&NPh department Ibraimova M.K. on the proposal to organize a branch of SSPh&NPh department at the Physics and Technology Institute Alatau, specializing in photovoltaics. Taking into account the interest on the part of university students and taking into account the degree of professionalism of the employees of the Physics and Technology Institute and the level of technical equipment of the Laboratory, it was proposed to conduct training sessions for bachelors and masters directly at the Physicotechnical Institute by the employees of the institute. the following courses: solar cell manufacturing technology, physical processes in photovoltaic energy converters, RES and alternative sources, etc.

On the third question:  Head of SSPh&NPh department Ibraimova M.K. on the proposal for the students of the department to carry out master's theses at the Physics and Technology Institute. The direct scientific supervision of dissertations by the employees of the Physics and Technology Institute was discussed.

On the fourth question: prof. Zharekeshev I.Kh. about the possibility of conducting joint research projects on:

1.Silicon-based photovoltaic solar energy conversion technology,

2. on scientific research of physicochemical, photoelectric, optical and other properties of solar cells.
