PRESS ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear colleagues!

On April 21, 2023 in the Scientific Library of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University International scientific and practical conference "Al-Farabi in World Culture: Thinker, Philosopher, Scientist" will be held dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Altayev Zhakypbek Altayuly.

The event is organized by the Department of Philosophy, Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies and the Al-Farabi Center of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of CS MSHE RK and the Kazakh Philosophical Congress.  

The conference includes directions such as the legacy of Al-Farabi in world philosophy and science, the philosophy of Al-Farabi and the Turkic peoples, the philosophy of modern Kazakhstan: main issues and future.

At the international scientific-practical conference "Al-Farabi in World Culture: Thinker, Philosopher, Scientist", an exhibition of the works of Professor Zhakypbek Altayuly, a photo exhibition dedicated to his life path, and a documentary film is presented.

As part of the event a new bibliographic collection dedicated to the owner of the anniversary by the publish house "Daryn" and the scientist`s booklets series as "Medieval classical philosophy" (in Kazakh, Russian), "Al-Farabi's philosophy" (in Kazakh, Russian, English) and "Islamic world thinkers" (in Kazakh and Russian) will be presented.

Well-known figures, scientists, students and graduate students, doctoral students, young scientists and the general public will take part in the event. 

At the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the week for the creativity of Professor Altayev Zhakypbek Altayuly will be held from April 04 – 20 in the framework of the event. 

Conference working languages: Kazakh, English, Russian, Turkish.

The proceeding of participants' articles will be published in accordance with the materials of the conference.
