Event on the topic “Combating climate change”

On 02/09/2023, 1st year students held an open educational hour on the topic "Combating climate change" in terms of sustainable development goals.  Students shared their thoughts on combating climate change.  He noted that climate change is one of the most important global problems for mankind with important environmental, social, economic and political aspects.  Increasing greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, degradation of organic waste in landfills, burning of fossil fuels (oil, coal and gas) in power plants and internal combustion engines were cited as a few of the main reasons.  He explained the climate change in Kazakhstan on the example of the Aral Sea.  Natural disasters, changes in the distribution of precipitation as a consequence of climate change for humanity, effects on human health, etc. have been reported.  The students came to the conclusion that everyone should take responsibility for combating climate change and implementing government programs to protect the environment.
