From October 24 to November 23, 2021, Professor of the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Head of the Laboratory of Controlled Photobiosynthesis Institute of Plant Physiology named after K.A.Timiryazev RAS, Corresponding Member of the RAS Suleyman Allahverdiev. He is a well-known specialist in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, an internationally recognized scientist in the field of physico-chemical, molecular biology and plant biochemistry. In 2021 S. Allahverdiyev became a laureate of the international energy award Global Energy.

Scientific interests of Allahverdiev S.I. include the study of the structure and function of photosystem II, the water-oxidizing complex, artificial photosynthesis, photoproduction of hydrogen, the study of the photocatalytic conversion of solar energy into energy of other types, as well as the effect of external stresses on plants and the mechanism of signal transmission from plant photoreceptors. He is the author of articles published in peer-reviewed foreign journals: 332 articles in the Scopus database, citation 16121 (h-index-63) and 357 articles in the web of science database, citation 15614 (h-index-62).
