The life of the whole world has significantly changed since COVID-19. People don’t often see each other these days, cafes, cinemas, restaurants and other public places stopped working. All educational institutions switched to distance learning. On November 4, 2020 the leaders of the club: “Yes I can”, the associate professor, Muldagaliyeva A.A. and Dzhanuzakova Ayan together with the senior teacher, Makhmetova D.M. from the Department of Foreign Languages, held an online event called: Living under COVID-19. The event took place on ZOOM platform. The topic of the event was living under COVID 19.

   The 1^st and 4^th year students of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology took part in the event.   The students shared their ideas about the current situation in the world in English having demonstrated the good language competence. This event was a very good motivation for the students to learn English. During the event the students told about their life in quarantine and before quarantine period. Each of the students expressed the words of gratitude to doctors and teachers for their priceless work.

After the short reports about living under COVID-19 the students of the group Chemistry 101 of Kazakh department: Alua Toleubekova, Kalamkas Esim, Zhansaya Karl sang two English songs to cheer up the event participants. The student of the group Chemistry 101 of Kazakh department, Olzhas Balkybek sang rap song devoted to COVID-19. The event was ended by the speech made by Muldagalieva A.A., the leader of the club: “Yes I can”. She thanked all the participants and wished them strong health and successes in their studies.

   The next meeting of “Yes I can” club will be at the end of November.
