On the eve of the celebration of Victory Day and Defender of the Motherland Day, Al-Farabi KazNU held a celebration in honor of World War II Veterans, front workers and members of the Council of Aksakals.

The First Vice-Rector, Mukhambetkali Burkitbayev, congratulating the veterans, highlighted that the exploits of our grandfathers and fathers in fighting for the freedom and independence of our Motherland, will forever remain in the history and memory of all humanity. «You have honorably fulfilled your civil and patriotic duty. Therefore, Victory Day for all of us is a special, sacred holiday. On this momentous day, we wish you good health, happiness, joy, confidence in the future, well-being and harmony in your families», - he said.

The Council of Aksakals of KazNU is represented by reputable scientists who have made a great contribution to the development of science and education. The Association conducts consultations on the improvement of education and research activities, investment projects and infrastructure development.

The participants of the event Honored Scientists, Academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan Arykbai Agybayev, State Prize Laureate Zulhair Mansurov, Doctor of Historical Sciences Uakhit Shalekenov, Honored Coach of the Kazakh SSR Anatoly Areshchenko and other elders supported the University's development strategy. They highly appreciated that KazNU was one of the best world HEI in the QS ranking and that the University is a leader in Central Asia and the CIS.

During the festive event, a concert was prepared for the Veterans by a team of student amateur performances, and the guests were also given memorable gifts.
