On 24 April, 2019 at 13 pm, in 219 room the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences of Al-Farabi KazNU held a joint seminar with the UNESCO Cluster Office and the State Committee "Kazselezaschita" on the theme "Seminar on the mobilization of young and young professionals in the field of science on disaster risk reduction in Kazakhstan" The seminar was attended by 28 people, young people and young professionals.

The main goal of the seminar was to increase the scientific potential among young researchers and specialists in the field of disaster risk reduction.

Questions that were raised during the seminar were as follows:

1. Natural disasters in Kazakhstan;

2. Actual studies of the problems of natural disasters;

3. Disaster risk reduction mechanisms at the regional and local levels:

4. Youth approach to increase the research potential of specialists.

As a result of the seminar, the knowledge and involvement of young specialists in studying and solving problems with natural disasters in the republic increased, and the work of the youth network United Youth for DRR (Central Asia) among young specialists in Kazakhstan was demonstrated.
