Video conference "New Silk Road as factor of sustainable development of Eurasia "

April 7, 2016 in the framework of the Annual international forum of scientists "Farabi readings", The Eurasian Research Center of International Department of al-Farabi Kazakh National University jointly with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Konguk University, Seoul holds on-line conference "New Silk Road as factor of sustainable development of Eurasia " on the «G-Global» interactive platform.

In the II century BC formed a transcontinental trade route from China to Europe, most of which runs through Central Asia. Already in the late 19th century, the trade route became known as the German Orientalists "Silk Road". "Peace and cooperation, openness and tolerance, exchange of experience and mutual benefit" were the main slogans of the trade route.

In September and October 2013, during his visit to Kazakhstan and Indonesia, Chinese President Xi Jinping put forward a proposal on joint formation with the countries concerned "Silk Road Economic Belt" and "Marine Silk Road of XXI century". Kazakhstan is actively involved in the realization of this ambitious project.

The purpose of the online conference is to discuss how the New Silk Road as a factor of sustainable development and cooperation of the countries located along the same belt.

The main directions of the conference:

1. Sustainable development , economic and financial cooperation of neighboring countries in the framework of the Chinese initiative "One Belt - one Road."

2. Problems of sustainable development of Eurasia and its vision from Almaty of Hong Kong and Seoul, with the participation of researchers from Dalian and Urumqi (China).

Conference languages: Kazakh, English, Russian and Chinese

The conference will be attended by scientists from Kazakhstan, China and Korea, doctoral students and undergraduates who are studying the problem.
