On February 21, 2021 circle "Gulistan" of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia, the Faculty of Oriental studies held an online meeting with Omarkhanova Gauhar Zhumagazievna, speaker of the Kazakh radio and translator information site Pars Today Kazakh, owned by global service host Iranian TV and radio.
From 2001 to 2007, Omarkhanova G.Zh. studied at the Department of Iranian Studies of the Faculty of Oriental Studies. She is engaged in literary translation on the topics of Iranian architecture, famous personalities, legends, tourist attractions, etc. Her translations are published on various websites and social networks and are widely appreciated. It should be noted that she translated the poems of a number of young poets such as Akberek Elgezek "Minazhat", Makpal Zhumabay "Black Box", Parviz Beigi Habibabadi "Selt Etken" into Persian. In addition, there are poems by poets such as Yerlan Zhunus, Kalkaman Sarin, Esey Geniculi, Alpamys Fazola, Sayat Abenov and Tangos Tolkynkyzy.
During the meeting, the guest spoke in detail about her translations, focused on the peculiarities of translating poetry and answered the questions of participants. She also voiced the translation from Persian to Kazakh and back. As a result, the participants agreed on the upcoming trainings and seminars for translators. In this event, organized by the Gulistan circle, in addition to teachers, students and teachers of the Department of the Persian language of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU took part with our students.
