International Hindi Language Day is celebrated annually on September 14th. The Hindi language ranks 4th in the world in terms of prevalence. He is the heir of the great ancient language - Sanskrit, a very rich and beautiful language. Only in KazNU named after al-Farabi there is an Indian department, whose students study the Hindi and Urdu languages.

As part of the celebration of the International Day of the Hindi Language, the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center at the Embassy of the Republic of India in Kazakhstan, along with the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi KazNU, organized a Hindi Language Competition in two nominations: a poetry competition and an essay competition. Students of Indian studies department of our university, also by young people who studied in various specialties in India itself as well as Indian amateurs who study Hindi at the Embassy of India attended the competition. Moreover valuable was the victory of our students in various nominations!

According to the terms of the poetry competition, it was necessary to make a video recording of the reading of poems in the Hindi language and publish it on social networks, sending the link to the organizers. In the second competition, it was necessary to write a short essay on a literary theme, and then send the scanned work to the organizers.

The jury of the competition included the director of the Indian Cultural Center, Dr. Sanjay Garg, and the staff of the center.

In the unanimous opinion of the jury, many participants demonstrated a high level of proficiency in the Hindi language, interest in Indian literature, and love for India.

The winners of the competitions received certificates and cash prizes from the Indian Cultural Center named after Swami Vivekananda.
