IT WAS HELD A PHOTO EXHIBITION DEDICATED TO THE BIRTHDAY OF MAHATMA GANDHI

On October 2, 2020, at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, was held a photo exhibition dedicated to the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, an Indian political and public figure, one of the leaders and ideologists of the Indian independence movement.

 The Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Paltore Ykhtiyar made a congratulatory speech and described the importance of Mahatma Gandhi's policy of "non-violent resistance" not only for India but for the whole world.

Yerekesheva Laura Gibratovna Doctor of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University emphasized the introduction of special methods of ideology by Mahatma Gandhi into his political activities, about becoming not only a political leader, but also a reformer of Hinduism, a modernizer. She also noted that the photo exhibition not only tells about the life and work of Gandhi, but also tells about the history of not only a separate country, but also about the history of most of the world, the history of a system that used to be colonial and became independent.

The result of this work was a video clip made and published on social networks. The video clip was organized by the head of the Department of Indology of the Department of Middle East and South Asia Tairova D. N. and was shown to students in an online format, and sent to the Embassy of the Republic of India as a sign of attention.
