A literary evening dedicated to Saadi Day was held at the Faculty of Oriental Studies

On April 18, the Iranian Studies Department of the Middle East and South Asia Department organized a literary evening dedicated to Saadi Day. The evening was held as part of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) project.The purpose of the literary evening is to exchange views on the work of one of the brightest representatives of Persian literature, the great poet Saadi Shirazi, as well as to promote his literary heritage. Guests of the evening read poems from the poet’s works in Persian. The literary evening was attended by the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty Mohsen Faghani, the Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Almaty Ravshan Bobokhonzoda, the Head of the cultural representation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty Hossein Agazadeh, scientists from Iran and Tajikistan, domestic orientalists, teachers, doctoral students, undergraduates and students .
