Academics of the Department of Middle East and South Asia A.Zh. Boranbaeva and G.A. Kambarbekova during a trip to Iran, on March 18, 2024, met with the doctor of the University Allameh Tabatabai, as well as the director of the Iranian Scientific Association for the Study of Peace Mandana Tishehyar. Dr. Mandana Tishehyar, an international relations specialist in Central Asia, Iran, and the Caucasus, is a scholar studying the themes of peace, tolerance, and cultural ties in the region. During the meeting, academics of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University exchanged views on future cooperation and joint research projects with the Director of the Iranian Peace Research Association, Dr. M. Tishehyar. Academics from the Department of Iranian Studies presented Dr. M. Tishehyar with a recently published Persian-Kazakh phraseological dictionary. Dr. M. Tishehyar also presented the book “Nauryz nevesht” (“Nauryz Wrote”) from the author N. Fazili. At the same time, M. Tishehyar said that she plans to hold a cultural event dedicated to the culture and history of Almaty, at the suggestion of the association she heads. In the future, it is expected that cooperation between teachers of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU after al-Farabi and the Iranian Peace Research Association will strengthen and implement joint research projects.
