In the first week of April 2023, the international scientific conference of young scientists and students “The World of Farabi” was held. About 20 students of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia, studying at the undergraduate and graduate levels, took part in the conference in the sections “History, economics and politics of the countries of the East”, “Actual problems of Oriental languages and literature of the countries of the East”, “Religion, culture, society of the countries of the East”, “Countries of the East in the foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan” and shared their experience of scientific research. As a result, students of the department received awards in these sections. In particular, in the section “Actual Issues of Oriental Languages and Literature of Eastern Countries” the first place was taken by the 1st year undergraduate of the educational program 7M02217 - Oriental Studies Togzhan Urumova, and in the section “Religion, Culture, Society of the Oriental Countries” the first place was taken by Shyngys Sanzharuly.

Students of the specialty “6B02207 - Oriental Studies” Yerlanova Asem took the 3rd place, Zhasbolat Zerekzhan - Vasilyev Dmitry Yuryevich took the 3rd place, Zhasbolat Zerekzhan, a 4th year student of the direction “6B02302 - Translation Studies” took the 3rd place, Zarina Abilmazhinova took the 2nd place in the specialty “7M03115 - Regional Studies”. The staff of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia congratulates all future orientalists on their awards and wishes them success in their scientific research.
