Scientific trip to the manuscript collections of Istanbul

In December 2022, Galiya Kambarbekova, PhD Doctor, Senior Lecturer of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, went on a scientific trip on a research project "Research of the ethno-political history of the Golden Horde and translation of new sources" funded by the Science Committee of the Ministry science and education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (grant No. BR10965240). During a scientific trip, she worked in the manuscript collections of the libraries of the Istanbul and worked with Persian manuscripts related to the history and culture of Kazakhstan.

During scientific trip, she identified manuscripts related to the history and culture of the country and prepared copies of the required manuscripts while working in the Suleymaniye Library, one of the libraries known for the quantity and value of the manuscript collection in Istanbul. She also worked in the manuscript collections of the Bayezid, Ata Turk libraries and the Library of rare books of the rectorate of Istanbul University, library and documentation department. In addition, during a scientific trip she met with Professor A.K. Muminov, a well-known Kazakh orientalist working at the Research Center for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCIKA) and got acquainted with the new publications and programs of the center planned for the coming year.
