LLP "Center for Remote Sensing and GIS "Terra"(hereinafter - the Partnership) is a company that closely cooperates with the Department of Geography, Land Management and Cadastre (Department) of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi.

The Partnership, founded in 1999, prioritizes the following areas of activity:

• - provision of a range of services in the field of environmental protection, including environmental protection and environmental design;
• - nature management and subsoil use;
• - forestry and gardening;
• - development and implementation of new technologies for Earth remote sensing (ERS) and geographic information systems (GIS);
• - carrying out scientific biological, geographical, geological and environmental research.

Highly qualified workers of various specialties conduct theoretical and practical work to study the patterns of the structure and functioning of natural systems of various ranks, environmental assessment and monitoring of the state of environmental components.

The partners of CDZ and GIS Terra LLP for the provision of remote sensing services are leading Kazakhstani, Russian and foreign companies, developers and operators of space systems, including DigitalGlobe (USA), Elecnor Deimos Imaging (Spain), Center for Remote Sensing and Ecology Chibo University (Japan), Japanese Corporation of Manned Space Systems (JMSSC), Geoinformation Agency "Innoter" (Russia), Ellis GeoSpatial (USA), JSC "NC" Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary ", etc.

The partnership successfully consolidates all the necessary skills of the team, to provide the most diverse and wide range of services to improve their quality, it attracts contractors represented by organizations, individual specialists and experts from various research institutes, production organizations, specialized companies and institutions, including foreign.

Over the years, the Partnership has trained a significant number of students of the Department, who can easily do their job at the present time. The necessary equipment, specialized hardware and software for all types of work, a successful and qualified team is happy to share their knowledge and experience. Partnership cooperates with many scientific state and non-state institutions of Kazakhstan, near and far abroad, as well as international organizations.

Among them are research institutes and departments of some universities (Russia, Uzbekistan, Switzerland, Mongolia, China, Japan), non-governmental institutions (France, Italy, Israel, Great Britain, USA). Among international organizations, the Company most closely cooperates with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the UNDP in Kazakhstan, the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia and others.
