“Are we suitable for each other in the family and at work: will confirm the cybernometer"

February 21, 2023 Department of General and Applied Psychology of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of the Kazakh National University after Al-Farabi held an event on the topic: “Are we suitable for each other in the family and at work: the cybernometer will confirm” with the international participation of psychologists from Helsinki, Finland and St. Petersburg, Russia, online on the ZOOM platform.

The speakers of the webinar were: 1) Neshcheret Tatyana Valentinovna, PhD Social Acmeology, Ph.D. candidate of psychological sciences, Associate Professor of the Center for Management Competences, St. Petersburg; 2) Beloly Vasily Savvovich, psychologist-teacher, consultant, independent researcher, expert in the field of cyber-training technologies and 3) Belola Nadezhda Alexandrovna - independent researcher, head of cyber-trainings, master classes on creativity, organizer of art exhibitions (Finland, Helsinki).

Among the participants of the webinar were teachers, students, undergraduates, doctoral students of KazNU after Al-Farabi, ENU after L.N. Gumilyov, KarU after Academician E.A. Buketov, universities of Kostanay and Semey.

The organizer and moderator of the webinar was Professor of the Department of General and Applied Psychology Kabakova M.P.

Among the organizers were also teachers of the Department of General and Applied Psychology – Professor Berdibayeva S.K., Associate Professor Sadvakasova Z.M., senior lecturer Musa K.M.

In his speech, V.S. Beloly especially noted the merit in the study of joint activities and communication, interpersonal interaction and relationships, compatibility and harmony, as well as in the development of hardware and technical modeling of these socio-psychological processes – the Soviet and Russian scientist, psychologist Nikolai Nikolayevich Obozov, a student of Academician B.G. Ananiev, founder of the Leningrad-Petersburg psychological school. It should also be noted that N.N. Obozov studied and "divorced" the phenomena of compatibility and harmony in social psychology, introduced the concept of "harmony".

Our speaker from Russia T.V. Neshcheret told and showed a peculiar device called a cybernometer, which provides a unique opportunity to study the process of joint activity. In Russia, he has been known for 50 years, his appearance is associated with the names of three people: the Frenchman Lomberger and two Russians - N.N. Obozov and V.S. Beloly. The device enables research, on the one hand, and hardware-technical modeling of joint activities and communication, on the other. Its use is described in N. Obozov “The Role of Cybertraning in Teaching Practical Management”.

The device is simple in design and use. The device consists of a working surface on which a labyrinth is indicated. There is a rod with control knobs, at the top of the rod there is a signal light. Also, a power panel is attached to the surface, and a scoreboard to control the operating time and the number of errors. "Players" jointly move the rod through the maze. The task is to pass the rod exclusively with the help of control knobs, without breaking contact with the surface and without touching the boundaries of the labyrinth paths.

When working on a cybernometer, it is assumed that a number of mandatory conditions are met, which are described in the instructions for the device.

According to all speakers, the experience of using the cybernometer is focused on teaching different aspects of joint activities (joint effectiveness, individual contribution and responsibility for the result, teamwork, influence, the ability to delegate, leadership, the use of mutual power, etc.). Accordingly, the cybernometer can be used in the study, study and modeling of joint activities and communication in many areas (family, work/study team, group of friends) and indifferent situations.

Cybernometer allows you to conduct team building trainings in a playful way and under any conditions. Cybernometer allows you to explore the psychology of team building. It models the visual process of team building, team formation, team interaction, measures the time and accuracy of teamwork, determines the compatibility of people in a group. The cybermeter shows the effectiveness of the mutual activity of the team, the degree of its cohesion, coherence and success, and its existing hierarchy (if any). The results obtained are clear and expressed in real numerical data.

The main advantage of the device is that it is very mobile and easy to use. The dimensions of the device do not exceed the size of a regular laptop.

Currently, there are several models of cybernometers.

You can start teaching children on a cybernometer from the age of 4-5. The number of participants in cyber-trainings is from 2 to 9 people.

Thus, the cybernometer allows not only to measure the state of the group and observe the formation of the team, but also during the game, learning to improve the interaction of team members takes place.

It must be admitted that in Kazakhstan there are only a few who are familiar with this device. In particular, this is Gitihmayeva Lyudmila – a psychologist, a graduate of KazNU, now a doctoral student at ENU after L.N. Gumilyov, who shared her experience with the cybernometer. I would like to believe that this method of research and teaching will find its users.

In general, despite the technical errors, the webinar was dynamic, meaningful, and interesting. 1st meeting, acquaintance with the successors of the ideas of the outstanding Russian psychologist N.N. Obozov took place.

Department of General and Applied Psychology KazNU after Al-Farabi expresses his deep gratitude to the speakers of the webinar from different cities and countries.
