The language is the color of the nation spiritual life

In the modern world, languages are essential for development, education, and communication, and they need not only to ensure the person identity, but also to provide intercultural dialogue, promote cooperation, create and preserve cultural heritage. Every year since 2000, the International Mother Language Day, proclaimed by UNESCO, has been celebrated to cultivate linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism.
On February 20, 2021, the online platform of the center "Russian Language and Culture" of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the event "The language is the color of the nation spiritual life". The representatives of Kazakhstan, Russia, Hungary, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan visited the event.
Olga Mosheeva, Chief Specialist of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Almaty, made a speech for the event participants and guests, making an accent on the importance of the given event, its uniting and creative nature.
The participants tried to show all the beauty, melodiousness and richness of their language. The songs and poems were performed in Kazakh, Russian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Dungan and Uzbek.
The participants were welcomed by the Deputy head of “Namangan” Russian center, Aziza Mirzanzarova who made a presentation about the Uzbek language. The head of " Pushkin Club" in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Zara Chitanava and the teacher of the Caspian University of technologies and engineering, Aibek Arslanbek from Aktau made a report about the Kazakh language.  The Professor of Peter Pazmany Catholic University, Kuralay Bukharbaeva spoke about the Hungarian language.
The Associate Professor of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Zayra Mukanova noted that multilingual and multicultural societies exist thanks to their languages, which convey and preserve traditional knowledge and cultures on a sustainable basis, and in the era of globalization, languages serve as a uniting factor for peaceful coexistence.
The head of the Russian Language and Culture Center, Zhanna Umatova, traditionally ended the event with the great words by Mikhail Sholokhov: " The greatest wealth of the people is their language."
