"Magic Russian Words" (teaching Russian speech etiquette)

The students from Turkmenistan have been studying at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University at various faculties for the second year. They acquire knowledge not only in their specialty, but also study the Russian language at the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature of the Faculty of Philology. Acquaintance with the language of Pushkin, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky is not limited only to academic studies. Foreign students practice their language skills at the meetings of the "Russian World" ethnoclub, the purposes of which is to develop communication skills and the discussion skills in Russian,to stimulate the creativity of foreign students studying Russian as a foreign language and to teach them how to adapt social and cultural norms of the foreign environment. The students from Turkmenistan enjoy learning not only Russian, but also Russian culture. The Ethnoclub "Russian World" of the Faculty of Philology and World Languages ​​held its next open educational event online on the topic: "Magic Russian words (teaching Russian speech etiquette)". The club meeting was devoted to the discussion of the rules of Russian speech etiquette. The students rediscovered such familiar words as “hello”, “goodbye”, “sorry”, etc., which they use every day in their speech, learned about the history of their origin, interesting historical facts and took an active part in the film quiz on the names of Russian films and cartoons with these words. Every time foreign students look forward to meetings of the ethnoclub, which take place in a cheerful and relaxed atmosphere, and feel very happy in making their little discoveries of the great language.
