On November 18, 2016 Associate Professor of the Foreign Languages Department ​A.Shayakhmet held the educational event «My Abai» under the university-wide program "100 Books". Second-year students of the Oriental Studies Faculty made the presentations in English about Abai’s life and works, read excerpts from his works, and acknowledged the role of Kazakh language and literature classic for modern Kazakhstan. Besides, second-year, third-year, and forth-year students wrote an opinion essay on the topic “My Abai”, devoted to 25^th Independence anniversary of the Republic of Kazakhstan,
