“ALIKHAN BUKEIKHANOV’S 155th ANNIVERSARY”

          On April 22, 2021 in online format on the Zoom platform the foreign languages department lecturer ​​Galiya Kulzhanbekova together with Saltanat B. Dzhangeldinova, senior lecturer of the department of foreign philology of the academician E.A. Buketov Karaganda University at the national level organized a telebridge dedicated to the celebration of an outstanding personality, prominent public figure, journalist, ethnographer, founder and leader of the national liberation movement “Alash”, Alikhan Bukeikhanov’s 155th anniversary. The upbringing of youth in the spirit of patriotism, the formation of patriotic feelings and love for the Motherland, the spread and popularization of the heritage of Alikhan Bukeikhanov were the main goals of the telebridge. A distinctive feature of this educational event was that the reports and presentations of all the particiapants, 1st year students, were in three languages ​​- Kazakh, Russian, English.

          The event was opened by showing a video film about Alikhan Bukeikhanov’s life, his social and political activities. Students got acquainted with interesting pages and some unknown facts from the life of the leader of the national democratic movement "Alash".

          In their reports and presentations, the participants of the telebridge noted that the Alikhan Bukeikhanov’s whole life was devoted to the struggle for the independence and freedom of the Kazakhs. It is worth noting that this year the 155th anniversary of Alikhan Bukekhanov coincides with the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence.

          Alikhan Bukeikhanov lived a difficult life filled with hopes and disappointments, victories and defeats. He was “under the hook” both by the old authorities and by the new ones, and each of them found a reason to express discontent.

          Today’s 30-year independence of Kazakhstan is the result of a centuries-old history of the people’s struggle for freedom and independent path of development and the result of the endless efforts of the national intellectual elite like Alikhan Bukeikhanov, Akhmet Baitursynov, Myrzhakyp Dulatov, Khalel Dosmukhamedov and their associates, who created the party “Alash” the program of which provided much of what is realized in modern Kazakhstan.

          A telebridge ended in the form of interactive quiz Kahoot.

          Despite the online format of this event, friendly relations were developed between the participants of the telebridge, professional contacts were established, and a wish for regular cooperation was expressed.
