Distance teacher training as a new tool  of professional development

The system of advanced training for teachers, like no other sphere of public life, needs advanced development. This is due to the huge flow of professionally relevant information and the rapid reduction of the "knowledge life cycle". In this respect, the system of advanced training should respond promptly to all socio-economic and scientific and technical changes and be constantly focused on the future. In this regard, the work of the Institute for Advanced Studies and Additional Education of the al-Farabi  University  is  conducted in full accordance with today’s  requirements.

Thus, in the period from October  19 to 31, 2020 the above mentioned institute organized  distance form of the 72-hour course "Management in Education" for the administrative staff of university departments. The course participants were trained online using the Zoom platform. The subjects of the course covered not only general issues of organization management, the history of management development and the importance of strategic planning in the university in the context of the transformation into University 4.0. A number of lectures were dedicated  to the issues of emotional intelligence and prevention of emotional burnout in a new reality, which is of particular importance during a global Covid-19 pandemic.

The course "Management in Education" was not only educational in nature, but also it had a therapeutic effect, since the lecturers of the course revealed the essence of some useful psychological practices, shared effective methods of self-regulation of mental state and, in general, created a very friendly atmosphere throughout the course of study, which contributed to developing the skills of retrospective analysis of our own pedagogical activity and professional self-development.

On December 3, 2020, at the Faculty of Philology and World Languages, a ceremonial presentation of certificates of the course completion took place.

We express our gratitude to the Institute for Advanced Studies and Additional Education of the al-Farabi university and  look forward to new interesting courses.
