"Time to sing" club

The third meeting of the Time to Sing club took place on November 27, 2020. The topic of the meeting was The Beatles and their song Let It Be. The Beatles is one of the most iconic and popular English rock bands of all time and was formed back in the 1960 in Liverpool. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr were the band members who took the band to a great height making it one of the most influential bands of all time. Everyone knows at least one of their songs. They earned three #1albums on the Billboard Charts in less than a year! And their record was not beaten until 2019. The South Korean group BTS did the same!

The band believed that all they need is love and had an accepting and receiving way of life. Their music focused on rock and roll, but it had shades of ballads, classical music, psychedelic rock, Indian music and others.

"Let it be" here does not mean to just relax about our problems and accept bad things.  It means "let it happen"-- let some new world, a happier and more peaceful world, become a reality. The song gives us hope of a happier and more peaceful world. It is a positive song.

When times got tough, they told the world that the worries of yesterday do not matter, and one should learn to let it go, and let it be. This song is a great song in which the message is to find light in the darkness.

The first-year students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies - specialties Translation Studies, Foreign Philology, Oriental Studies - took part in the meeting. Not only the leader spoke about the Beatles, Rakymkul Aknur and Kalmukhambetova Akerke told their stories about the legendary group and the song Let It Be. Aknur introduced the song Yesterday. In addition, Eldana Kopbay enthusiastically presented her favorite artist David Bowie, and Nauanova Aigerim spoke about Ava Max and her song So Am I.
