1. to critically evaluate theories, concepts, and achievements of conflict studies, the most advanced methodologies to conduct an independent research and fulfill professional teaching tasks;
2. to propose new ideas and hypotheses in the field of conflict studies;
3.to apply innovative and unconventional methods while researching social and political conflicts;
4. to plan, arrange and implementation of mediation and other activities for conflicts management and resolution using psychological and foreign language knowledge and skills;
5. to evaluate the current methods of conflict studies given lack of complete and verifiable data and present the results before both specialist and non-specialist audience;
6. to evaluate critically the activities of international intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations amidst emerging, escalating and resolving conflicts taking into account the psychological implications in their management;
7. to develop recommendations of a strategic and tactical nature for conflict management and resolution using various strategies and foreign-language skills that would be applicable for intercultural and professional contexts;
8. to conduct independently diagnoses and prognoses of cute conflicts;
9. to incorporate the scholarly knowledge and expertise on conflict studies during their own reserch and professional teaching activates;
10. to create databases with the purpose of the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts including those in foreign languages;
11. to provide consulting services and analytical support to facilitate prevention, settlement and resolution of conflicts during negotiations between various political actors;
12. to maintain an effective teaching of conflict-studies and related university courses based on conventional and innovative methods in accordance with Kazakhstan’s heritage and values.
