SRI for Combustion problems

The main task of the Institute is to develop in the Republic of Kazakhstan of such scientific fields as chemical physics, combustion processes, plasma chemistry, mechano-chemistry, nanomaterials and nanotechnology.Our goal is to reach the world level, as close to the production of applied science and business.

Based on the objective tasks of the IPG are as follows:

- develop new forms of innovation, scientific and technical cooperation with research organizations and industrial enterprises, foundations and others to jointly address critical scientific and technical problems on the creation and introduction of new materials,including nanomaterials and nanotechnologyanalysis and certification obtained final product;

- develop cooperation with the country's leading universities, other scientific and educational institutions and industrial enterprises for training and retraining of specialists in the field of advanced materials and technologies.

Priorities for IPG are the following areas:

a) The creation of new nanomaterials with desired properties of hydrocarbons;

b) the production of pure materials and alloys with desired properties, and structure;

c) fundamentals of mastering the complex and deep-processing of mineral raw materials to produce products of high marketability.

History

In 1988 on the basis of department of chemical kinetics and burning КаzSU the Kazakh interbranch scientific and technical center СВС transformed per 1990 in Institute of problems of burning (CPI) has been created.

First director of CPI there was academician of RATS, professor G.I. Ksandopulo.

In due time scientific results of Institute have drawn attention of the Nobel prize winner of academician N.N. Semenov, three times hero of socialist work of academician J.B. Zeldovich, academicians V.N. Kondratyev, N.M. Emmanuel and other scientists with a world name. In this occasion academician N.N. Semenov has told:«it is possible to consider, that works of scientists of faculty andCPIhave put in pawn bases of original Kazakhstan school in the field of chemical physics».

The institute will on a regular basis organize in Almaty the international symposiums - «Physics and Chemistry of Carbon Materials // Nanoengineering» (2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010) and«Combustion and Plasma chemistry » (2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011).

Since 1998 is quarterly published the international magazine «Eurasian Chemico-Technological journal» for scientists of near and far abroad, and with 2003 the Institute of problems of burning together with scientific advice on burning and explosion at Presidium of the Russian Academy of sciences publishes the International scientific quarterly magazine «Combustion and Plasma chemistry» which is registered in the Ministry of culture, information and the public consent of Republic Kazakhstan, the certificate 2658-å from 2/7/2002 on supervision in sphere of formation and science MES RK (Report 7 from 28.09.2007) the scientific magazine «Combustion and Plasma chemistry» is included by the Decision of Board of Committee in the list of editions for the publication of the basic scientific results of dissertations on chemical sciences.

The main scientific direction of the IPG in the field of basic and applied research is the study of chemistry and physics of combustion processes in gas and condensed phases:

- study of the structure of gas flames;

- study of the problems self-propagating high-temperature synthesis of new materials;

- obtain composite ceramics based on carbides, silicides, borides in SHS;

- receive carbon nanostructured multifunctional materials;

- refining of petroleum and gas by using the principles of combustion process;

- the development of energy-intensive and environmentally sound technologies;

- mathematical modeling of combustion processes;

- plasma chemistry.

IPG development associated with increased interest by foreign companies, helped to attract foreign investment through innovative projects, international projects ISTC, INTAS, etc.By grants from INTAS and ISTC run international projects in close collaboration with colleagues from Russia and abroad.
