Vatican Observatory Summer School 2023

Ildana Mazhitovna Izmailova, a second-year master's student specialties Physics and Astronomy, participated in the international summer school Vatican Observatory Summer School 2023, which took place from June 4 to June 30, 2023. This school, ranked 2nd in the global ranking of educational institutions for astrophysics, was held in Castel Gandolfo, Italy. The Vatican Observatory Summer School is aimed at educating researchers in the field of astrophysics and astronomy. Participants gain in-depth knowledge about modern theoretical and practical aspects of astronomy, astrophysics, cosmology, and related fields. The school provides an opportunity for students and young scientists to interact with leading experts in these areas, exchange experiences and knowledge, and develop their research skills in astronomy.

During the school, the master's student chose a topic that encompasses methods and tools of machine learning. Detailed exploration was conducted on data processing and analysis processes, which help automate the handling of large volumes of data from various sources such as telescopes, satellites, and radio telescopes. Additionally, valuable connections were established with fellow participants of the school and leading specialists from the observatory for potential future collaboration.
