From April 24 to April 26, 2024, the Republican subject Olympiad among students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at the M. Auezov South Kazakhstan Research University. 22 teams from higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the Olympiad. The Olympiad consisted of 2 rounds: 1 - testing in basic environmental disciplines, 2- protection of scientific projects in the field of "Green technologies of household waste disposal".

The Republican Environmental Olympiad was led by Laura Serikovna Kurbanova, cting associate professor of UNESCO chair for Sustainable Development, Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and 3rd year students of the "6B05202-Ecology" and "6B05201-Geoecology" specialties of the Russian and Kazakh departments took part. Our students have shown high qualifications and knowledge. Students Amrebayeva Ansara, Sarybai Zhania and Abdumutalip Zhasulan took the deserved third place.
