On November 23-24, 2023, the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Geographical Foundations of Sustainable Development" is being held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. This event is dedicated to several significant dates at once: the 75th anniversary of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management and the Department of Geography, Land Management and Cadastre, as well as the anniversary of Professors Temirbekov A.T. and Nadyrov Sh.M.

The conference was opened by the Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Erkinbayeva L.K., who emphasized the extensive geography of the conference participants (Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, USA, etc.)

The presentations of the conference guests aroused great interest: Medeu A. R. - Chairman of the Board of JSC "Institute of Geography and Water Security", Akhmad Affandi Mahfudz - specialist in Islamic Finance (CPIF), Abrorkhanova K. A. - Head of the Department "Pedagogy of Primary Education" of Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami, Nizamiev A. G. - Professor of the Faculty of International Relations of Osh State University, Stephen Young – Professor of Salem State University, etc.

In addition to breakout sessions on the directions, master classes on the use of digital technologies in geography are planned during the conference.
