On 31.08.2022 year, within the framework of the Orientation Week, an online meeting was held with undergraduates of the 1st Year of the Faculty of geography and environmental management. At the meeting, undergraduates were familiarized with the scientific directions of the Departments of the faculty, the procedure for identifying differences in unrelated specialties, the specifics of choosing a supervisor, and the rules for publishing scientific articles. Organizational issues were also resolved. The head of the Department "UNESCO for Sustainable Development", Ph.d, associate professor Bazarbayeva T. A undergraduates were introduced to the history of the department, its main scientific directions, foreign partners, branches of the Department, two-degree educational programs with North-Eastern University (China), Peoples ' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) and Belgorod state National Research University (Belgu). In 2013 year, the department was awarded the international status of UNESCO. Last year, the UNESCO Department for Sustainable Development celebrated its 10th anniversary. The department implements the international scientific and educational project "Green Bridge through generations" in cooperation with international partners. Well-known scientists from foreign universities are invited to give lectures. T. A. Bazarbayeva wished the undergraduates success in their scientific activities and contributed to the development and strengthening of the department at the international level.
