«Yes I Can» English club held its meeting. It was devoted to the jubilee of the great Kazakh poet, philosopher humanist, composer Abai Kunanbayev. In the year 2020 our country will celebrate 175th jubeley of Abai. It is going to be a remarkable event. Students of Chemical faculty- members of the club- have prepared an interesting program. The meeting of the club began with the two presentations made by Dara Amangeldy and Diana Dauzhanova. In their presentations they spoke about Abai’s biography, his creative work, his philosophical ideas. Both presenters tried to rivet the attention of the club members to the humanistic poems of Abai, in which he expresses his thoughts about the meaning and purpose of life. The main idea of their presentations was as follows: The problem of man stands in the very center of his philosophical views. . Abai creates his famous concept of man “Adam bol!” Abai determines the level of humanity of a person by his conscience, his responsibility to himself and society, as well as his behavior and actions. In his works, he urges to be self-critical, to refrain from evil deeds, thoughts, not to succumb to temptations. The club members listened to Dara’s and Diana’s talks with great interest. Then the students of group Saida Djelubayeva, Tukhtayev Farukh, Chapurina Zina, Shendrigina Katya, Serikkaliyeva Aruzhan, Zbara Nazar,Alshymbayev Rakhat and Ersainova Dana participated in a baton relay of Abai’s poetry. They read Abai’s poems by heart. To a big surprise of “Yes I can” club member students studying German expressed their desire to participate in the meeting. These were the first - year students of Geographical faculty majoring in tourism and one second- year student Zhaken Edyl majoring in kartography. They also prepared presentations about Abaipoet and translator. Almukhanova Kamila in her presentation said that Abai’s poetry are translated into many languages , including German... 

The name of the club is “Yes I can!”. These 3 amazing words have a strong inspirational and motivational force. They help take control of your thoughts, think positively of yourself, set new goals and feel more confident. It may be a right motto for every member of the club, which can supply with enough willpower to excel in learning, f.ex. English. The door of the club is open to everyone who wants to improve speaking and listening skills, improve his vocabulary, pronunciation and develop presentation skills. Everyone is welcome to our club!!!
