1. Interpret the main ideas of modern sociological paradigms, trends and directions of development of world and national sociological science, build on their own conceptual basis;
2. Apply modern methods of sociological research, monitoring and diagnostics, modeling of social, economic, political, cultural phenomena, processes, relations;
3. Identify and analyze the features, mechanisms and main trends in the development of modern society, global and regional socio-economic and political, cultural and political processes;
4. Possess practical skills in independent quantitative and qualitative research, qualified explanation, analysis and forecasting of modern social processes within one of the branches of sociology;
5. Possess mathematical methods of analysis, skills of applying regression and multidimensional statistical methods, analysis of sociological data with modern software packages of statistical data processing (SPSS, etc.);
6. Carry out diagnostics of political, cultural, economic risks of development and actual problems of modern society in the context of globalization and a single information space;
7. Assess the modern processes of social modernization and transformation of institutions, the development of social groups and structures, regional and urban development;
8. Use modern information technologies and special computer programs for receiving, processing, systematizing, analyzing and storing scientific information and the results of independent scientific research, their presentation in the form of reports and presentations;
9. Independently develop the design of your own sociological research - posing research questions, organizing the research stages, determining the strategy and methods of scientific research, designing data analysis methods;
10. Present with arguments own vision of a scientific problem and scientific results at the national or international level in the form of scientific projects, reports, articles, dissertations, and demonstrate the culture of scientific writing, competent presentation of scientific publications, reports and other materials;
11. Demonstrate the skills of scientific communication, establish scientific relations, present the acquired knowledge and scientific achievements to colleagues and the scientific community at scientific discussions, seminars and conferences;
12. Independently solve problems arising in the course of research and teaching activities that require the deepening of professional knowledge, the development of worldview and professional culture.
