THE SHARE OF KAZNU SCIENTISTS IN ELSEVIER WILL INCREASE

Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with Vice-President of Elsevier Marat Fatkhullin.


Elsevier is the world's largest publishing company, which specializes in scientific literature, consisting of electronic publications, encyclopedias, monographs and scientific journals, prepared by scientists who have scientific degree and research activity. The academic publishing company was founded in Amsterdam (Netherlands) in 1880 and today has branches in the UK, USA, Brazil, Turkey and Central Asian countries.

 

Welcoming the guest of honor, the head of the university told about the achievements and future plans of KazNU. The rector expressed readiness for further cooperation, contributing to the development of higher education and science.

"KazNU main focus lies in the development of science and innovation. This year it rose to the 150th place in the international QS ranking among the best universities in the world. Our university successfully continues its scientific and educational activities. It demonstrates intellectual potential not only on a national scale, but also at the international level. KazNU scientists work for the benefit of national science. KazNU has prepared more than hundred innovative projects. Moreover, our university successfully operates certification centers of well–known companies such as Samsung, Hewlett-Packard, Cisco, Konica Minolta, Fujitsu, Alcatel, Microsoft, Kaspersky, Huawei, as well as other Academies and institutes," Zhanseit Tuimebayev said.

 

In turn, Vice-President of Elsevier Publishing house Marat Fathullin expressed gratitude to the university administration for the warm welcome.

 

The parties agreed to intensify partnership to increase the publication of scientific research and articles by KazNU scientists in well-known publishing companies of the world.
