CONSUL GENERAL OF THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN MET WITH THE STUDENTS

The Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Almaty Ravshan Bobokhonzoda visited Al-Farabi Kazakh National University to meet with students from Tajikistan, the session was attended by the Board member - Vice Rector for Operations Assel Uvalieva.

Vice-Rector for Operations Assel Uvalieva welcomed the guest of honor, noting the history of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan began back in 1993. Since then, according to the speaker, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan have been working together to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of culture, education, science and economy.

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, which occupies the 150th position in the QS global ranking, has been cooperating with leading universities of Tajikistan for many years, such as the Mining-Metallurgical Institute of Tajikistan and the Tajik Technical University named after academician M.S. Osimi. Since 2019, the University has been operating the Center for "Tajik Language and Culture", opened on the initiative of the Consulate General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Almaty. Currently, about 40 students from Tajikistan are studying at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Almaty, Ravshan Bobokhonzoda, in his response, thanked the university management for the warm welcome and support of students from Tajikistan who are studying at KazNU. Mr. Consul highlighted the achievements of the leading university of Kazakhstan, highlighted the main milestones of cooperation and, in particular, the signing of a memorandum between KazNU and Tajik National University within the framework of the First International Forum of Rectors of Central Asian Countries. Due to the rapidly changing realities in the world community, he urged students to refrain from participating in criminal gangs and armed conflicts on the territory of Kazakhstan, expressing the hope that students will concentrate on studying best practices and mastering modern professions.

"At the end of the Al-Farabi KazNU, you will be able to work for the benefit of our people and state. I am sure that you will make a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of our country," Mr. Bobokhonzoda stressed.

During the meeting, students were able to ask interesting questions and get comprehensive answers.
