The administration of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a meeting of the teaching staff with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty and the diplomatic corps. During the meeting the guests got acquainted with a presentation of the layout of the university and the film "The role of KazNU in the training of diplomatic personnel".

Representatives of the diplomatic corps of the Republic of Kazakhstan expressed their appreciation to the staff of KazNU for support and close long-term cooperation. According to Askar Shokybayev ,the head of the representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, meetings at university always open up new opportunities and activate bilateral communication with the scientific community. The diplomats shared their experience concerning Kazakhstan's foreign policy, achievements and prospects in modern international relations.

In turn, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev congratulated the representatives of the diplomatic corps on the Day of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is celebrated annually on July 2.

“Our country has its own direction in international relations and has become a herald of peace and harmony. Kazakhstan has entered a new stage of development. It is obvious that a set of reforms in the domestic policy of the country will affect foreign policy and diplomacy. In addition, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University performs great efforts to contribute to the development of new Kazakhstan with fair system" - the rector of the university announced. “Today, not all Kazakhstani universities can compete with their foreign partners in the quality of educational programs. It is necessary to introduce the most advanced technologies and equipment, to create modern learning conditions for Kazakh youth. Thus, the Faculty of International Relations of KazNU has been successfully operating for the past 30 years. The Faculty is considered to be a forge of personnel in the field of international relations and foreign policy, international law and world economy. Our graduates successfully work in the legislative and executive authorities, in the apparatus of the Parliament and Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan” - the rector of the university emphasized, adding that the meeting with the diplomatic corps should become a good tradition aimed at strengthening cooperation. At the meeting the parties discussed global challenges, current trends and priorities for the development of the higher education system.

During the meeting welcoming speeches were delivered by representative of the UN Department of Global Communications and Head of the UN Information Office in Kazakhstan Vlastimil Samek, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Almaty Jiang Wei and Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty Ali Ryza Akinci.
