The International Scientific Conference "Spirituality: from Al-Farabi to Nizami" was held within the walls of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Famous scientists and writers of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, teachers, student youth took part in a large-scale event dedicated to the 880th anniversary of the poet Nizami Ganjavi.

Opening the conference, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of the University Bekzhan Meirbayev emphasized the importance of studying the heritage of medieval thinkers and poets of Central Asia and Azerbaijan. According to the speaker, spiritual and national traditions have a direct impact on the formation of historical statehood, the preservation of the uniqueness and identity of the people, this is due to the relevance of the preservation and study of spiritual values.

Speaking at the event, Yelchin Askerov, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Regional Center for Youth Forum of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, drew attention to the need to instill national values ​​in the younger generation. I wished all the participants success in the joint search for ways to neutralize the negative impact of global trends on youth and strengthen the foundations of identity.

The following speakers also spoke at the meeting: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Agalar Atamoglanov, First Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Association in Kazakhstan Allahverdi Mammadov, Head of the Almaty branch of the Zhas Otan youth wing of the Nur Otan party Nursultan Bekkairov and other guests, leading experts and scientists who discussed topical issues of further preservation of national values ​​and dialogue of cultures.

The work of the conference was carried out in the following directions: the contribution of oriental thinkers to world civilization; Nizami Ganjavi is an outstanding representative of world culture; Al-Farabi and Nizami: the legacy of medieval thinkers in the formation of spiritual values.

The event was organized by the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Al-Farabi Center, the Eurasian Regional Center for the Youth Forum of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
