A meeting with famous personalities of Kazakhstan - director Yermek Tursunov, Ethnic designer Yrza Tursynzad, Akyn Arman Berdalin was held at KazNU in the framework of the «Sanaly Urpaq» anti-corruption policy project. Speakers were able to at interest students, telling about their path to success and the main principles of life.

The event was organized by the «Sanaly Urpaq» anti-corruption club. Its head Kaiyrzhan Tokushev introduced the honored guests of KazNU, emphasizing that they are well-known self-made people who achieved success on their own.

The first speaker was Ermek Tursunov. He told students about how he studied at KazNU, and that he was not a diligent student at all, however he wrote articles in the newspaper «Leninskaya Smena». «In our time, there was also corruption», - the film director recalled. «We, the students, were digging a garden for teachers, building saunas, and got good grades for that».

The Editor-in-Chief of the «Leninskaya Smena» newspaper noticed student Tursunov’s creative abilities and invited him to work. Thus, he began his difficult path to the profession of the future film director. He entered the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography, where 14 people competed per place, and he graduated from the Institute of Cinematography, participated in the «Nevada-Semey» movement. He left to work in the USA, where he gained very valuable experience and returned to his homeland to make films here and realize his creative goals.

Being a great storyteller, the famous film director captivated students with simple words coming from the heart. «You are still young. You’ll get diplomas tomorrow, and you’ll go to work. You do not think that everywhere you need give bribes, look for relatives - Yermek Tursunov addressed the youth. - Hope for yourself! Because everyone has their own star! And, it is looking at you. If you go the wrong way from the very beginning, you will have to go through it all your life. I never gave anyone bribes, didn’t enter into a conspiracy with the producers. It is the easiest way to live. I wish you all good luck! If you all come together as individuals and professionals, you can help parents in old age. Ask yourself tough questions more often. You ask why I came to KazNU, what I will do next. Work on yourself!»

Remembering her youth, ethnic designer Yrza Tursynzada said that she also had to deal with cases of corruption when teachers called students to their homes to wash dishes, set the table, serving guests. However, the principal student Yrza Tursynzada refused to participate in this and received excellent marks only thanks to her knowledge. «Your happiness is that you were born in an independent country. You have absolutely pure consciousness! - Yrza Tursynzad emphasized in her speech. – Today, the whole world is just a button away. While we spent days and evenings in libraries. Now is a great time for you! Go ahead and look for yourself! »

The famous Akyn Arman Berdalin made an inspirational speech. «One tree will not become a forest, one stake will not become a fortress, » the speaker recalled the Kazakh proverb. – Therefore, the anti-corruption agency will not be able to overcome all corruption alone. We all must participate in this struggle, including you – young and strong. I would like to wish you that your knowledge gained in this educational institution will help you become worthy citizens of our country in the future».

Simple truths shared by talented people turn into diamonds, dropping into the soul. Students left the room with a baggage of impressions to think about the speeches of the speakers and bring out their lessons.
