We’re Raising Patriots

On the eve of the First President’s Day and the Day of State Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, students of the Military Department studying in the specialty «Military Journalism» held a lecture «I am a Patriot of Kazakhstan».
The Military Department of Al-Farabi KazNU has been conducting military-patriotic work with students of the gymnasium «Self-knowledge» of the Scientific Center «Bobek» for several years. Open door days, demonstration classes on initial military-technological training, courage lessons and meetings with veterans of the Armed Forces are organized for students.
The lecture series entitled «I am a patriot of Kazakhstan» consisted of two parts. In the first, future military journalists conducted for high school students the lessons «How to be a patriot of our homeland», telling about the values of Kazakhstani society, as well as the threats and challenges to our independence.
Further, in the celebration hall of the gymnasium «Self-knowledge», a concert-presentation «I am a patriot!» was organized to all high school students. Brightly and figuratively, the students told the students the story of the establishment of independence of Kazakhstan from the creation of the Kazakh Khanate to the present day. Songs of the war years, 50-70s of the 20th century, verses of the great Abay and kuis of Kurmangazy were sounded.
Summing up the event, the Deputy Director of the gymnasium «Self-knowledge» Irina Grigoryeva expressed her deep gratitude to the leadership of the Military Department of Al-Farabi KazNU and personally the Head of the Military Department of Colonel O.V. Azhimov for close cooperation in the military-patriotic education of schoolchildren, the high level and significance of the lecture, and also thanked the teachers and students.
In warm and cordial words, gratitude was expressed by high school students Gulam Makhammat, Dmitry Shakhanov and Beisen Ibdraysadykov. The lecture was ended with a heartfelt performance of the song «Atameken» by all participants of the event and schoolchildren.
