International Conference «Keeping the Past, Creating the Present, and Shaping the Future», dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science was held at the Al-Farabi scientific library. The event was attended by University leadership, academic staff, faculty's graduates, undergraduate, graduate, doctoral students and young scientists.

A number of festive events were dedicated to the anniversary of the Faculty. The celebration of the anniversary and World Philosophy Day was launched by the Department of Philosophy, which organized a Round Table on the theme «Philosophy as a Calling and a Profession». Young scientists presented reports to the participants on the importance of philosophical science, and highlighted the modern problems of its study.

The Department of Sociology and Social Work held the V Azhenov's readings on World Sociology Day on the topic: «New Paradigms of Global Development». As it is known, globalization in modern social theory is among the most pressing topics. Such discussions are very important for a deeper understanding of the problem.

The Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies organized an international scientific-practical conference «The Current State and Prospects for the Development of Religious Studies», dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the specialty «Religious Studies». Today, the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies seeks to maintain a unique spirit, strengthen its professional status and successfully solve modern problems facing science.

The Department of Pedagogy and Education Management took an active part in the anniversary events. Students of the Department of Political Science and Political Technologies held a Round Table on the topic: «Youth of the Third Millennium: Discussions on Politics».

The Department of General and Applied Psychology organized a Round Table, discussing the topic of psychophysiological research of depressive conditions that is relevant for society.

The Student Council of the Faculty also contributed to the celebration of the anniversary. Creative evening of student groups (NIRS, Student Council of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science) «Parade of specialties of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science» will be remembered for all the interesting communication, creative enthusiasm and a sea of positive emotions.

The international conference «Keeping the Past, Creating the Present, and Shaping the Future» summed up the event. Vice-Rector for Social Development of KazNU Sholpan Zhamanbalaeva, congratulating the participants of the Conference, emphasized: «The staff of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science is distinguished by high creative potential, responsibility, dedication to their profession and the University».

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary, the Faculty was congratulated by foreign scientists from universities in the USA, France, Russia, Canada, etc. Well-known scientists of the country, heads of political and social centers spoke at the anniversary event and presented congratulatory letters. The event continued with a music program. A photo exhibition dedicated to Professors and Deans and lecturers, who headed the Faculty, as well as a scientific and educational exhibition of six faculties was organized at the lobby of the library.The seventieth anniversary was a significant event for leacturers and students of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi KazNU.
