Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a meeting with representatives of Shanghai Transport University, headed by the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Mr. Cheng Zhou, who proposed to the leadership of KazNU to implement a number of joint programs in the scientific and educational field.

Discussing the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation, the First Vice-Rector of KazNU Mukhambetkali Burkitbayev spoke about the activities of the University and has acquainted guests with international projects implemented jointly with the best universities in the world.

Today, Al-Farabi KazNU cooperates with 40 universities of China and this was an incentive for further collaboration, which significantly increased students’ interest in learning Chinese language.

At the meeting, the parties considered a number of issues on the development and opening of joint programs, bilateral activities within the University Alliance of the Silk Road, the prospects for cooperation in the field of computer science and technology, the development of scientific activities in areas of mutual interest, etc.

We really hope for close cooperation, which will open up new opportunities and prospects between our universities. The cooperation of KazNU and Shanghai Transport University, which began many years ago, is fruitful and I think that during the next meeting we will consider specific proposals to expand our capabilities, which will help achieve new mutually beneficial goals and objectives both in the field of academic student mobility and exchange of teachers as well as in the development of joint projects», - concluded the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Mr. Cheng Zhou.
