The Global University Summit did not go unnoticed by the Universities of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Summit was attended by Rector of the University of Gilan, Dr. Ahmad Razi, and Rector of the Alame Tabatabai University, Dr. Hossein Salimi. At the end of the Summit, distinguished guests visited the Faculty of Oriental Studies, which trains Iranian Studies specialists.

Rectors of Iranian universities met with the Dean of the faculty Y.M. Paltore, Head of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia P.M. Suleimenov and lecturers of the Department of Iranian Studies, and discussed future partnership projects. In particular, Rector of the University of Gilan expressed his readiness to accept students of the Iranian studies department for two-week language courses, and proposed to launch a teacher exchange program. During the summit, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Al-Farabi KazNU and Gilan University.
