Professor of the Diplomatic Academy of the UAE Muhamad Olimat visited Al-Farabi KazNU. He specializes in the US foreign policy research in the Middle East and North Africa, China’s relations with the countries of the Middle East and Central Asia.

The meeting was attended by Deans and Deputy Deans, Heads of Departments, professors of the Departments of Philosophy and Political Science, Oriental Studies and International Relations, as well as undergraduates and PhD students.

The Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, Professor Aliya Masalimova acquainted the guest with the activities and achievements of the University, highlighted the importance of specialties of the Faculty.

In the course of the meeting, the issues and prospects of cooperation with the Diplomatic Academy, the implementation of joint educational programs and research projects, academic mobility were discussed.

The Professor acquainted the participants with the directions of his research activities and noted the growing interest of the UAE scientists to the countries of Central Asia. He also said that in the coming years it is planned to create special Research Centers, where qualified specialists will be in demand.

Muhamad Olimat pointed out that the Diplomatic Academy provides training opportunities for foreign citizens, including Kazakhstan. Now 5 students from Kazakhstan are studying under such a program. He answered the questions of undergraduates and doctoral students concerning training in the Diplomatiс Academy and undergoing of scientific internships.

The Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies of the Faculty of Physics and Education familiarized the guest with the Scientific Library and the expositions of Al-Farabi Museum, and also organized a campus tour.
